Now you can try being a POP ART artis yourself!

HAVE FUN!

WARHOL'S WORK

Now is time for us to take a few minutes to look at this artist work and try to form our own opinion about this POP ART representative.

POP ART

These are clear examples of Pop Art.

"Pop Art challenged tradition by asserting that an artist's use of the mass-produced visual commodities of popular culture is contiguous with the perspective of fine art. Pop removes the material from its context and isolates the object, or combines it with other objects, for contemplation. The concept of pop art refers not as much to the art itself as to the attitudes that led to it."

In the first example we can see how these common objects have been "misplaced" creating therefore a surrealistic scene.

The tomato pulp can is one of the objects chosen by Warhol for it to be multiplied and represented in many colors giving in that way the idea of repetition and mass production.

ART: MODERN ART "POP ART"

Andy Warhol is considered to be one of the pioneers of Pop Art. He is also one of the most chosen artists to be studied as his perspective of life and its rhythm causes interest in teachers all over the world. The purspose of his foundation is to promote the advancement of Visual Art, as the artist stated on his will. It is for this reason that teachers think he is to be studied as a good influence for students, as his concern for mass production and industrialized life gave birth to many followers of his art and his ideas.
